timbra
Timbra marks Kelly Wearstler’s first piano design, created in collaboration with Edelweiss, the renowned British atelier celebrated for its bespoke craftsmanship. Reimagining Edelweiss’ compact round piano, the design transforms the traditional instrument into a sculptural object where sound, form, and material converge.
Handcrafted from layered birchwood veneer, the piano’s sweeping, wave-like contours draw inspiration from the fluid movement of soundwaves, allowing the natural grain of the wood to animate the surface with depth and motion. Developed in dialogue with the instrument’s internal architecture, the sculptural exterior preserves the acoustic precision Edelweiss is known for, ensuring the piano performs as beautifully as it appears.
Each piece is handcrafted by Edelweiss’ elite team in Cambridge, where advanced technology meets meticulous craftsmanship. Tuned for intimate environments – from private residences and yachts to refined hospitality spaces – Timbra delivers a balanced, atmospheric sound that enhances a room without overwhelming it. The piano is available in a curated selection of finishes including Dune, Carbon, Linen, and Tobacco, each revealing the layered veneer and sculptural contours in a distinct way, allowing the instrument to shift effortlessly between design object, sculpture, and musical presence.
