Kelly Wearstler has always understood that the objects we live with daily are the ones that matter most, not always the grand gesture but often the morning coffee, the counter she keeps clear, the materials chosen with the same care she brings to every project. When Breville introduced the Mixed Metals Collection, Kelly recognized her own design language at work: brass and stainless steel held in deliberate tension, one crisp and exacting, the other warm and deep, each better for the contrast. Proof that good design instincts hold up in any medium.

The Partnership

Breville asked Kelly to bring her eye to the Mixed Metals Collection, which spoke in a material language she'd been working in for years. Together they built a campaign around the harmony of deliberate contrast, featuring daily rituals rendered in brass and stainless steel.

Kelly's Morning Ritual

There's a specific kind of quiet in a kitchen before 7am, it’s not quite silence, but more the hum of a ritual performed for its own sake. Kelly shot the Mixed Metals campaign inside that moment. The campaign follows her ordinary morning: a triple macchiato made at home, quality and ease at the center of the story.

This one started with a design language I recognized immediately — the same intentional contrast I bring to every interior, just rendered in brass and stainless steel. When the design language is right, the collaboration finds its own logic.
