Westfield Century City draws from the heritage and lifestyle of Los Angeles, bringing the ease of Southern California living to a landmark retail destination. Natural, artisanal materials and a largely neutral palette shape a series of outdoor settings layered with tile, warm woods, varied furnishings, and lush landscaping. Mid-century modern influences appear through white and smoky gray metals, custom solid teak furniture, linear architectural forms, and latticed screens that filter the abundant sunlight, blurring the boundaries between indoors and out.
Throughout the property, landscaped courtyards respond to the region’s Mediterranean climate, with reflecting pools and Moroccan-inspired tile set among olive trees, aloe, and wood-screened trellises. Travertine planters and more than 50 custom tile patterns bring color and variation to intimate seating areas, while fountains, vine-covered bridges, hanging daybeds, and sculptural mounds of lawn create moments of discovery across the gardens. Together, these elements bring the character of a residential garden into the larger scale of the retail environment.
Art is integrated throughout the landscape, including California DNA by ceramic artist Stan Bitters and monumental dango sculptures by Jun Kaneko. At the heart of the property, the Atrium extends this emphasis on gathering, with communal tables, custom seating, and shaded cabanas creating a central place to meet and linger. The interplay of art, landscape, and social spaces shifts the experience beyond traditional retail, recasting Century City as a contemporary gathering place rooted in the culture and climate of Los Angeles.
