For the studio’s first New York project, the seventh-floor restaurant at Bergdorf Goodman draws from the sophisticated salons of the past while nodding to the building’s Beaux-Arts heritage. Furnishings and references spanning the 1930s through the 1970s bring different eras into conversation, set against a palette of ebony, ivory, robin’s egg blue, chartreuse, mustard yellow, and bronze.
The intimacy of a drawing room shapes the interiors, with hooded bergère chairs creating spaces for conversation alongside a custom de Gournay turquoise silk wallcovering in a delicate chinoiserie pattern. Vintage and contemporary elements lend the restaurant a sense of history while keeping the overall character distinctly modern.
